Declare
Interdependence!

America is turning 250.

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, we have a chance to reflect on who we have been, who we are becoming, and the future we choose together.

The first Declaration named a nation’s independence. Now, 250 years later, we can ask what comes next? And what each of us can commit to in service of the people, places, and principles we hold most dear.

Interdependence is not a new idea.

It is an old truth we live every day.

We see it in the farmer and the soil, the parent and the neighbor, the town and its river, the city and its workers, the small business and its customers, and the generations who depend on what we protect and pass on.

No one builds a life, a community, or a country alone.

Why Declare?

To declare interdependence is to name what sustains us.

The people, places, traditions, systems, and natural world we depend on, and the responsibilities we share in return.
