Declaration of Interdependence
Ben
Ben
I, Ben of Vancouver Island, declare that I am part of the natural world, not separate from it, and that my life depends on rain, water, climate, soil, trees, and the many hands that sustain it. I hold this truth close: my wife and child, my mom, grandparents, extended family, Anna’s hummingbirds, bees, garden, local farmers, and Gaia Mother Earth all help make my life possible. I envision a world that recognizes its dependence on what it calls other, because a stable, interdependent environment enables everyone’s existence. I commit to stewarding nature with my skills and care, protecting, helping, promoting, and connecting with the living world.
