I, Aryeh Shell, of Oakland, CA, am a guest in the unceded territories of the Huchiun, which is the traditional land of the Lisjan Ohlone people, where I call home. I declare that interdependence is the living truth that kinship and reciprocity bind everything to everything else, and that we belong to each other and all life. I hold this to be plain: my local creeks and Oakland watersheds, the Mokelumne River, soils and microorganisms, mycelial webs, redwoods, owls, family, neighbors, ancestors, future ones, farmers, and workers all make my life possible. I want communities shaped by bioregions, mutual care, regeneration, gratitude, and shared purpose. I commit to serving that regenerative future with responsibility and sacred reciprocity.
